Life is made up of cycles. We are surrounded by cycles! For this project I was inspired by Ancient Persian music rhythm cycles, a 14th century poem by Hafez and a melody by the 17th century composer Kaspberger to create a circular imaginary.

La vie est fait de cycles. Nous sommes entourés par des cycles! Pour ce projet, je me suis inspiré des cycles rythmiques de la musique ancienne persane, un poème de Hafez (poète du 14e siècle) ou d’un mélodie de Kapbsberger (compositeur du 17e siècle) pour créer un monde imaginaires circulaire!

Ziya Tabassian began playing the tombak at the age of ten. After a brief initiation period in Iran, he continued his autodidactic training in Quebec, his adopted homeland. As a percussionist, he performs with several other musical groups. He has performed in more than 40 countries in prestigious festivals and concert halls.
